For QuickBooks Online · 3–30 person service businesses
“Hi, this is a friendly reminder that invoice 2287 for $18,450.00 is now overdue.”
That's what QuickBooks already sent. Three times.
Duetriage reads your QuickBooks and tells you, every Monday, which customers actually need a real message this week — and writes it for you. You copy it, you send it, from your own inbox.

“Hi, this is a friendly reminder that invoice 2287 for $18,450.00 is now overdue.”
- Names the job
- Names the person who signs off
- Asks for a date
- Explains why this one, not the $640 invoice next to it
Same customer, same overdue invoice. One of these got copied and sent by a real person. Guess which one worked.
The problem
You don't have a “forgetting” problem. QuickBooks already reminds people for free.
You have a deciding problem.
It's Monday. You've got nineteen open invoices. Automated reminders already went out to all of them, and nothing came back — because your customer's AP clerk can spot a robot email in one glance and has learned to ignore it.
The invoices that actually threaten payroll are the big ones, from the customers you're scared to annoy. Those are exactly the ones that never get a real chase.
So you sit down to figure out which three of the nineteen deserve a real, personal, slightly firmer message this week — and what each one should say. That's thirty to sixty minutes of work nobody wants to do. It gets pushed to next week. Every week.
Pushing it off costs nothing today. It costs a lot in sixty days.
How Duetriage works
-
1
Connect QuickBooks
Read-only. Takes a few minutes. Duetriage cannot change anything in your books — it can only look.
-
2
See your ranked list every Monday at 7am
Not sorted by amount or by days overdue. Ranked by what's actually changing — a customer who used to pay in 18 days and is now taking 39 is ranked ahead of an invoice that's older but from someone who always pays late anyway. Every row tells you why it's on the list, in plain language.
-
3
Read the drafted message
One message per customer, covering everything they owe you, with a running total — not one email per invoice. Duetriage writes it at the right pressure for that relationship: a gentle nudge for a good payer running a little late, a direct final notice for someone who's ignored three requests.
-
4
Copy it, paste it, send it
From your own email address, in your own thread, with replies landing back in your own inbox. Duetriage never sends anything. You do.
Why not just use QuickBooks' free reminders
QuickBooks already reminds people. For free. So why pay $49 a month?
Because the free reminders are a timer. What you need is judgement.
| Duetriage | QuickBooks' free reminders | |
|---|---|---|
| One message, or several? | One message per customer, covering every overdue invoice they have, with a total. | One email per invoice. A customer who owes you on four invoices gets four separate emails on the same morning — which is the fastest way to get filtered straight to a “supplier noise” folder. |
| Who gets chased first? | An ordered list, ranked by what's actually at risk — amount, age, and whether this customer's payment habits are getting worse. Every row says why. | Nothing is ranked. Every unpaid invoice is treated the same. |
| Does the tone change? | Yes. A good customer running a little late gets a warm nudge. A big invoice going quiet from a customer who's usually reliable gets something firmer. | One template, for every invoice, every customer, forever. |
| What happens if it keeps going unpaid? | The message gets firmer the following week, because the same invoice is now older and scores higher — up to one ceiling, never harsher than that. | Runs on a fixed schedule and stops, or repeats the exact same email indefinitely. Neither one adjusts to what's actually happening. |
The honest concession: if you have eight customers and they all pay on time, Duetriage has nothing to rank, and you shouldn't buy it. Duetriage earns its keep once you're carrying 15+ open invoices with real variation in who pays when and who doesn't.

Sign in with IntuitThere's a real tool built for chasing invoices with a lot more automation than Duetriage — Chaser HQ. It starts at $259 a month and goes to $1,169. It's built for a credit-control department: collections add-on, credit checks, SMS, billable phone calls. Its own reviewers say it “requires a lot of attention to be at its most useful” and that setup is “challenging for inexperienced users.”
If you have a full-time AR team, buy that. If it's you and your office manager and thirty minutes on a Monday, Duetriage is $49, there's nothing to configure past connecting QuickBooks, and you're done in under ten minutes a week.
One recovered $18,450 invoice covers more than 31 years of Duetriage. Even one $640 invoice covers the whole first year.
What Duetriage doesn't do
We'd rather tell you this up front than have you find out later.
- Duetriage never touches your money. No payments, no card details, no bank feeds. The pay link in every message is your own QuickBooks invoice link, untouched.
- Duetriage never writes to QuickBooks. Read-only, permanently. It can read your invoices. It cannot change, delete, or create anything in your books. Ever.
- Duetriage never sends anything. There's no send button on our end. You get a drafted message and a Copy button. You paste it into your own email and you press send. If a customer already paid, Duetriage will tell you before you copy — the button is replaced with “Paid $2,890 on Oct 4 — don't send this.”
- Duetriage doesn't track opens, deliveries, or replies. It isn't in your mail path, so it won't pretend to know what happened after you hit send. Your own sent folder is the record.
- Duetriage doesn't work with QuickBooks Desktop, Xero, spreadsheets, or CSV uploads. QuickBooks Online only, live-connected — because without a live connection, nothing can safely tell you when a customer has actually paid.
Nineteen invoices. Three that actually matter this week.
Duetriage tells you which three.
